Happy Juneteenth! The importance of community resonates deeply. Slavery sought to divide and dehumanize, but our celebrations of freedom remind us of the strength we find in unity. As we honor our ancestors and their struggles, we reclaim our power through togetherness, creativity, and healing. The value of community is indeed invaluable and unmatched. Thank you to my AAALC members for making this Juneteenth unforgettable! ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿NATANA DENZMORE,Marilyne Dotson, Aushanta Fleming, Ashley K. My #Safeway shopping buddy! 🛒The grocery store has become a cornerstone of my weekly routine. During the pandemic, it was my chance to get out of the house, and now it’s a wonderful way to spend quality time with my son. #albertsons #thejoysoffood #motherhood

Although this is a snippet of an entire conversation, as a bilingual individual, I love the message that I found in it! Learning a new language goes beyond mere reading, speaking, and writing—it involves immersing oneself in the culture. A growing language like American English is complex!....not that others aren't.Unfortunately, I've witnessed instances where people belittle those whose second or third language is English. It's dehumanizing, especially when the critic often only speaks English, and not well! So, here's my takeaway: Let's be patient and empathetic with language learners. Sometimes, we need to get creative, practice patience, and listen attentively. Encouragement matters—always!#LanguageLearning #CulturalAwareness #EmpathyMatters #diversityandinclusion #belonging #empatheticleaders

R O O T E D I N C U L T U R E 🌍 The Women of Color Alliance (WOCA) invited a special guest for the celebration of Albertsons’ Earth Month. Erin Masako Wilkins, L.Ac., MS, an Asian American herbalist, guided us through an introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). (Hosted by Kelly Pillow)Our members explored the proactive health benefits of tea and its significant role in regulating our Qi (pronounced ‘chee’, akin to energy). As Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) month approaches, WOCA sought to highlight our cultural connections to the Earth and its vital role in our health and healing.Make sure to stop by your nearest #Safeway, #Albertsons, or any ACI-affiliated grocery store to get some fresh ginger, chamomile tea, green tea, or mint to get your Qi flowing today! For further insights, consider visiting Erin’s website (https://herbfolkshop.com), follow her on Instagram ( 📸: herbfolkmedicine) or purchasing her book to learn more.

HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH ! ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿✊🏼The category is the arts! 🎭🎨Many beloved black TV series have prematurely ended, depriving us of exceptional artistry that may never be revisited unless accessed through streaming platforms. The issue, according to the networks, arises when black shows fail to crossover; a viewpoint I don't share. For the shows that do manage to crossover they always have a few episodes that speak specifically to our plight. #blackhistorymonth #blackhistory #diversityandinclusion
