Tekashi 69 keeps on making headlines even after his prison release. After posting a rant on Instagram to claim that Billboard manipulated the charts to favor certain artists, Ariana Grande had something to say about it after her song “Stuck With U” with Justin Bieber hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

According to Tekashi’s original Instagram rant, Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber’s “Stuck With U” was in fifth place on the list that was sent to him by Billboard. He went on to say that “Stuck With U” submitted 60,000 units “out of nowhere” on Thursday night, putting the song at number one.

Ariana Grande Thanked Fans But Wanted To Clear Up The Drama

In a lengthy Instagram post, the singer said that while she was celebrating her song earning the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, she needed to speak out. To explain how their song took the number one spot, she said “my fans bought the song. JUSTIN’S fans bought the song. OUR fans bought this song (never more than four copies each, AS THE RULES STATE).” She wanted to emphasize that sales were a huge part of the reason why their song went from being number five to number one was that both artists have diehard fans that bought the song.

While Tekashi 69’s song “GOOBA” has 182 million views on YouTube, it just did not have enough sales or streams to push it to the number one spot. Ariana went on to say “u can not discredit this as hard as u try. to anybody that is displeased with their placement on the chart this week or who is spending their time racking their brain thinking of as many ways as they can to discredit hard-working women (and only the women for some reason…..)” This is true in that Tekashi points fingers at Ariana in the video and singles her out as the one who is responsible for manipulating the charts. Why not also call out Justin? It seemed like a blatant dig at women in the music industry.

She continued “i ask u to take a moment to humble yourself. be grateful you’re even here. that people want to listen to u at all. it’s a blessed position to be in. ” She finished the post by saying “congratulations to all my talented a** peers in the top ten this week. even number 3.” She still gave Tekashi credit for reaching such a high position on the charts even after he made such strong accusations against her. That is the definition of handling the situation with class and grace. Ariana is someone who has worked so hard to get to the point that she’s at now.

Justin Bieber Also Spoke Out About Tekashi 69’s Comments

Justin was quick to post on his Instagram story to back up Ariana’s statement. He explained that both he and Ariana followed the rules put in place by Billboard. He said that Tekashi was trying to discredit their fan base for buying and streaming the song so much. “This is my song with Ariana Grande and I’m honored to work with her to help raise money for a great cause. If you gonna say her name make sure you say mine because it’s our song,” he said.

Tekashi Also Involved Jay-Z And Nicki Minaj Into His Accusations

After all of the artists spoke out, Tekashi took his accusations a step further. He posted an Instagram story that said “@billboard YOU CHEATED. Jay-Z and Nicki Minaj were right, people buy their number ones. Nothing is real you guys are frauds.” In the past, Jay-Z’s verse on Meek Mill’s “What’s Free,” spoke about “inflating numbers” on the Billboard Hot 100. While Nicki Minaj previously called out the Billboard 200 Chart after her albumQueendebuted at number two behind Travis Scott’sAstroworld. He used both of their claims to fuel his fire. But of course, it’s important here to note that Nicki recently reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 with her feature in Doja Cats song “Say So.”

We have to take this all with a grain of salt though considering the Tekashi is releasing another song at the end of this week. It may be a ploy to garner more attention and more streams when his single does come out.
