This guide to the best cards in Idleon provides card builds for different game activities to ensure players optimise their gains. From skilling and fighting card builds that use damage, multikill, drop rate, card drop chance, AFK gains or EXP cards you will find the best options on this page from the hundreds of different cards available.
Designed as a comprehensive card tier list of options players can mix these recommendations based on their own card availability or use it as a priority list of cards to hunt with card drop chance. These recommended card setups are based on my 5,000+ hours of Idleon experience and are equally applicable to new players or end gamers and should be combined with the Idleon wiki page on cards.

Idleon Cards Overview
- Cards are dropped from monsters and resources and each has their own bonus that grows in power based on the number of cards collected which applies when equipped.
- Players start with slots for 4 cards and can unlock an additional 4 from the gem shop.
- Cards belong to card sets that group similar themed cards together with each providing a card set bonus that must be equipped to provide its bonus (maximum one at a time).
- Players start with 2 card presets (unlocked at first character level 40) that allow you to save card configurations and quickly switch between them. Players can also purchase additional presets from the gem shop.
- Some cards are passive cards which means they always provide their bonuses all the time and do not need to be equipped. This is indicated by the word “(passive)” on the card screen. There is a bonus that players unlock in World 4 that turns specific skilling cards into passive cards that are indicated by the letter “(P)” when this bonus is obtained instead.
- In World 4 players unlock the ability to double the top left and bottom right hand card which is where you should always place the strongest card for your current goal (often referred to as the lab card doubler).
Skilling Card Build
When skilling players will want to maximise the following stats from cards depending on your goals:
- AFK skilling gains
- Food effect (increases boost food benefits such as Saucy Logfries or Icing Ironbite)

- Skilling experience (focused on skilling levels)
- Drop Rate (focused on cards, statues or other rare drops from the resource)
- Card Drop Rate (focused on skilling cards)
- All Stat % (remaining card slots for small efficiency gain)
The table below does not include the resource specific cards that turn passive from an unlock at the end of World 4. Prior to this players should add the respective skilling cards for the resource which are easy to identify as they are always cards linked to that resource such as Iron Ore and Gold Ore providing mining benefits.
