My current job: I am a Project Development Analyst of MASICAP MSME Development Foundation Inc. (a non-profit, non-government organization). During my first fielding, I was assigned as Team Leader for Agusan del Sur (covering the municipalities of Rosario, Bunawan, Trento, Sta. Josefa, Veruela and Loreto) and currently, a Team Leader in Dipolog City.
How long did it take to find a job: I landed a job right after my graduation through a renewal of contract with the same foundation I am working with.

About MSU-IIT: Talking about the facilities, they are better and still improving to becoming best.
The students are smart but simple that made me feel I belong. Workers are nice. These are just few of the things that made me feel comfortable during my 4 years of stay.
During my college days, I realized that learning is more on me and not on the instructors. In MSU-IIT, we (students) were encouraged to study beyond what have been transcribed in class. We are challenged to be mor einitiative to not to work after our intructors but rather work before them. Indeed, MSU-IIT made me prepared to face our profession's real world : teaching in the real classroom.
My current job: I am teaching in a government secondary school.

About MSU-IIT: MSU-IIT is a public school and it is considered as a world class institution, yet our facilities are incomplete because of our insufficient budget, which is a result of low tuition fees. But we have lot of things that we are proud of. We are one of the best schools in the Philippines and the finest school in Mindanao. It can be scrutinized in terms of excellence in science and technology, intellectual students and topnotchers, exceptional and degree-holder professors, and advanced knowledge in respective fields of study.
My current job: I don’t still have a job. After passing the licensure board exam in civil engineering last November 2012, here I am applying a scholarship for Masters in CE and waiting for the masteral class this coming June 2013.

About MSU-IIT: Our school is a center of excellence. The professors are bright and dedicated. They are there to teach and to help us learn what they teach. They are real professors.
Our school is located in a small city. Although is it just by the highway, the classroom buildings are located at the back where vehicle noises can't cause distraction.
We have all the facilities we need for our curriculum. So far, what I learned in my college days are very much related to what I am doing now in my workplace.
My current job: I am a science lab technician.

Why did I choose this school: Proximity to our house. And of course, MSU-IIT is prestigious and multi-awarded in science and engineering, despite being a simple state university.
About MSU-IIT: MSU-IIT is a melting pot in the South, with students from different ethnic and religious backgrounds. Christians, Muslims, and even exchange students coexist peacefully with respect for each other.
Our teachers were very good, too, and professional at most. At least in our department (Chemistry), most of the teachers were masters of their own subjects and were not selfish in sharing to us what they know.
My current job: I am a Laboratory Analyst working in the largest Petroleum Refinery in the Philippines.
I am assigned in the Power Plant arm of the refinery, so I handle coal, petroleum co*ke, fly ash and bottom ash samples, and also water and wastewater analysis.
Not only that, I supervise the laboratory and make sure everything is working well, chemical and supplies inventory is above normal, and other management stuff.
How long did it take to find a job: I graduated in April 2009.
Started reviewing for the boards [for 3 months] in May.
Took the exam in September. Got the results the following day. Sent out application letters and e-mailed different companies within that week.
Got a call from an employer within a week, was subjected to interviews the following day, and had Day 1 on that company after 5 days.

About MSU-IIT: The professors were good. I mean not all. Some are bitter, some didn't have the talent to easily teach the students their lessons and some are strict. But as far as I could remember, mostly of my professors of my major subjects. They were good. They have at least Masteral Degrees if not Doctoral Degree from ADMU, FEU and UP and some gained their post graduate degree from other country.
Compared to other school, the atmosphere and its facilities were not that good. But considering it's a state university and considering we only pay for about Php 3,000 to Php 4,000 per semester, that can be understood.
My current job: Science Research Specialist at DOST
How long did it take to find a job: Right after graduation. Actually it was before my graduation. I was chosen to be early employed with the foundation which aims to help young professionals build their confidence and technically train them to face the real employment world. I stayed their for 3 years before my job at DOST.

About MSU-IIT: The professors are very competent. Our faculties in the department of Civil Engineering in MSU-IIT are all having master's degree of civil engineering in various fields of specialization. Almost all of them finished their master's degree at foreign universities such as Asian Institute of Technology. They really trained us hard here.
The school atmosphere is very nice. The student population is about 13,000 every semesters and most of the students are scholars of various government institutions like DOST. Students are friendly and also the professors, except for some terrors (I mean well known for giving low grades and high standards-really difficult to pass in his subjects) .
The facilities are up to date. Colleges in the campus have their own wifi internet connection. Facilities and laboratory equipment are updated. Some are donated by graduate students who were sponsored by ERDT under DOST.
My current job: Civil Engineer at Department of Public Works and Highways - LNED-II

About MSU-IIT: The professors are different in college, especially in my school which is a state university that is aiming to provide quality education. Their method of teaching is more advanced than the usual setup we got in high school. They tend to challenge us in all possible means so that in return, we are able to know more about our hidden interest on the respective subjects that they teach.
The atmosphere: I got to interact with people immediately since we belong in the same social status and I didn't felt any insecurities because I know that we are all the same.
The facilities: well, there is a lot to improve, that's all I can say for now. I am aware that I am enrolled in a state university, hence, I should also accept that fact that the facilities they provide would not be as elegant and expensive compared to those universities that were built to cater the elite society.
My current job: I am a front desk receptionist here in Pearl View Hotel, Butterworth, Penang, Malaysia (But ill be going home on march 2013 since my contract is only for 5 months. This is just for experience by the way)
How long did it take to find a job: Actually I got hired after my training on the same hotel.

About MSU-IIT: MSU-IIT (Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology) is really an amazing school because it really produces quality graduates in their respective field. In fact, top caliber employees come from MSU-IIT who dominate the corporate world here in the Philippines and abroad. Thanks to the teachers, professors, faculties, and staffs who devote their lives to teach and impart their knowledge heartily to us students. In our time, most of us were scholars from the government provided if we passed the entrance exam. Just imagine, only p10 pesos was the tuition fee per unit so poor but deserving students can still finish their college education. But now, I guess they increase their tuition fees because of the limited budget allocation so I hope the Philippine government will do something about it and invest more to state universities so that every Filipinos will be educated and become professionals. The location of MSU-IIT is very conducive for learning because it's located in small city where malls and bars are limited so students can focus their studies and excel at their chosen field. Inside the school, you can still see big trees populating the grounds so you can study well while breathing fresh air. In our time, there were libraries in every college inside the University, and the lecture rooms were big enough to accommodate more or less 30 students. The computer labs at that time were present in technology related colleges but now inside the University there are many WIFI zones in mostly populated areas like canteen, school lobby, and libraries so students with notebooks or lap tops can easily connect to the web. My current job: Currently, I'm a freelance PCB Design Engineer, blogger mom, and entrepreneur.
How long did it take to find a job: In my last school year, while schooling I was hired as part time customer service associate at Globe Telecom Business Center at Iligan City, Philippines under GTWSP (Globe Telecom Working Student Program). My BS ECE course and the acquired knowledge I’ve learned after almost 6 years study were the great contributing factors that they hired me. Almost 1 year in there, I decided to apply another kind of job that somewhat closely related to my field of study so I applied online at Celestica Phils., Inc. as PCB Design Engineer. Without doubt, I got the titled position with God's grace and doing my best in there series of written exams and interviews. Applying job after graduation was easy for me as I say so because I got what I want after studying hard in my chosen course. And I owe that very much to my teachers & professors at COE (College of Engineering) in MSU-IIT.

About MSU-IIT: Well, MSU-IIT visualize itself to be a world-class institution renowned for its excellence in science and technology. Why did I choose this school: Because this school produces highly competitive and flexible students and the interesting part is they have cheaper tuition fees compared to other top performing schools.
About MSU-IIT: Our school has this environment that is really conducive for learning. Everyone is so passionate about achieving a high grade that it drives you to do the same thing and that is really a good thing.
The professors are very supportive but not to the extent that they spoon feed everything, so there's still a room for the students to grow and to be independent.
The facilities on our school are up to date and we don't really have a hint of worry of being left behind when it comes to new knowledge and learning because our school makes it sure that we get the best of everything.

About MSU-IIT: Well, the atmosphere is good. Some professors are terror but there are also "sabay". We can't blame those terror teachers because maybe they have high standards. So the best thing to do is just do our best so that we'll not fail.

About MSU-IIT: MSU-IIT is somewhat in between progress and dilapitation when you talk about facilities. This could actually be one reason why the students feel at home. State of the art equipmet sit side by side with obsolete machines housed in a semi modern building. Like a small city about to jump into the world of technology and modernization but held back by it's sense of simplicity and rurality.
The professors are the weirdiest and the smartest in the city and the philippines but you will definitely learn so much from them.
My current job: I currently work as a training resource management specialist

About MSU-IIT: Professors: They are great in their respective fields. They do not spoon fed students. Even though the knowledge they impart is vast, they still require students to think on their own.
Facilities: Our facilities were not as great as the University of Philippines. We lack a lot of equipment. But compared to the other universities in Mindanao, we have a much better set of facilities. The professors just make use of alternatives to compensate for what we lack.
My current job: I am currently employed as an Instructor in Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology.

About MSU-IIT: MSU-IIT is a huge institution which caters thousands of students. People in MSU-IIT are vibrant and friendly. The professors are intelligent enough and competent. The knowledge they impart to students are sufficient enough for their learning. However, some facilities are old and not highly advanced since it is a government owned institution. The budget allotted for our school is not adequate but slowly, some low tech facilities are being replaced by new ones.
My current job: I am a freelance writer, I write on some Psychology topics.
How long did it take to find a job: Around a month only. I applied in August and get hired in August also. :)

Why did I choose this school: I chose this school because of it's affordability yet has the highest standard and quality of learning in Mindanao.
About MSU-IIT: The atmosphere was fair, clean, safe, well organized and very conducive for learning.
The professors were excellent in their field of specialization. Most of them are doctors came from them different international colleges. Some of the professors also are students of the university before.
The facilities were world class. Enough resources that can help students on their studies. Our university has libraries per college (9 colleges) plus a main library, well-maintained comfort rooms, student lounge, canteen, gym, security offices, well ventilated classrooms and computer laboratories.
My current job: I applied in a college to teach and was given immediately a consideration and started teaching days after. But after a semester in teaching I decided to stop and continue to study another course because I was offered a free support in education in Engineering at that time, at the same university by my aunt and I took that opportunity. Now I'am currently not employed, I'am currently taking up the course offered for me, Computer Engineering. While studying at my new course I'am having a "side job" tutorial sessions in my free time.
How long did it take to find a job: I've got my first job few months after I graduated.

About MSU-IIT: The school was good; actually it is the best school among the others here in our place. The people were so friendly and warm. The professors were also good and most of them already have a degree title. Also the facilities are good. The books were well-provided and laboratories are well-equipped.

How long did it take to find a job: Finding job after I graduated was not so difficult. I became a call center agent in our city and worked for almost two years. Due to health reasons, I did resign for good. I also Became an emcee for some activities in our barangay such as beauty pageants.

About MSU-IIT: I am proud to be a product of a public school, especially to be an IITian. The professors are well-equipped on their field of subject and they are very professional. Though there are threats in Iligan City, I felt safe when I am in school because of the tight security. When it comes to facilities, there are enough facilities to accommodate the need of the students.
My current job: As of July 2012, I am employed at MASICAP MSME Development Foundation Inc. To prepare project feasibility studies and proposals.

Why did I choose this school: I chose this school because it is a good school for education. Aside from that this school has it's mission which is to provide quality education for the industrial and socio-economic development of Mindanao. Hence, this school also renowned for it's excellence in science and technology and for it's commitment to the holistic development not just for individual but also for society.
About MSU-IIT: The professors were terror. Sometimes they were hard to understand maybe because they thought we were geniuses like them. And some of them had their own favorite student. Moreover, some rooms were air-conditioned. Computers and other equipment were not enough but it was not a hindrance for us to cope with the lessons. While libraries were full of books which was good for referencing and it helps a lot. They also put computers inside the libraries so that students can also do research for more reference. They also have student lounges.
My current job: For now I don't have a job because I am planning to take a masters degree.

About MSU-IIT: The school overall is a good place to study. We don't have a uniform which I like so much because we are free whatever we dress given that it is decent. Our professors were all masters in their field but some are very argumentative and strict but I guess It helped to develop my skills and learnings. About MSU-IIT: Campus ambiance was very well organized. The professors were more likely International teachers, they taught very well and enhanced our way of leadership to our colleagues. They were the best professors I'd had in my whole life, they were one of a kind.
