This is a great 23 minute train ride for $3.50 on a 1/3 scale train that runs outside the zoo. Tickets are purchased near the zoo entrance. One stop is at the beautiful Japanese gardens and you can get on and off there but you can't buy tickets there. There is a nice tunnel and narration.

Outside food or drink is not allowed into the zoo. Exceptions are: bottled water, baby food, and formula. Ice chests, coolers, and ice bags are not allowed on zoo grounds. *School groups will still be allowed to bring in lunches for their classes.

It took us about 3 hours to walk through the zoo. We saw all of the typical animals; elephants, giraffes, zebras, rhinoceros, monkeys, big cats, reptile house, several bird areas, alligators, kangaroos, bush dogs, emu, anteater, lemurs, bears, African wild dogs, gazelles, a children's area and so much more.

The zoo normally takes around 2 to 3 hours to see so we encourage you to arrive early and enjoy the facilities and the zoo before your encounter/tour.

With children, it could take a few hours to all day to see everything, go on rides, attend shows, etc. For adults just walking through exhibit areas, the full zoo can be seen in about 2-3 hours.

We recommend approximately three hours to see the entire Zoo, depending on the size and ages of your group and how fast you walk. Because we create exhibits that replicate the animals' natural habitats, some animals can be difficult to see and visitors may be required to spend more time in observation.
