I think I said this same thing last year, but I love the last few days of each year, and one of my favorite traditions is making this annual list of the top ten new recipes from the previous year. This year I’m narrowing it down a bit more and giving youThe Top Ten New Low-Carb Recipes of 2016 from Kalyn’s Kitchen. And as always there are going to be honorable mentions as well, because I can never manage to narrow it down to just ten!

Some bloggers have a very scientific method for picking their top ten list, but recipes posted earlier in the year will always be more popular than the ones that haven’t been out that long, so I’ve never settled on a method that seemed fair if you go by which recipes are most popular. So I freely admit that mine is a subjective list of the Top Ten New Low-Carb Recipes I most enjoyed eating this year!

And having a job where you get to cook amazing food (and eat it) is pretty great any time of year, so thank you so much to all my readers for your support of this blog and the way that support allows me to continue sharing recipes with you here. I am grateful more than you can probably ever imagine for everyone who keeps coming back here to get ideas for dinner. I hope you’re having a relaxing week to finish out 2016 and wish you all the best for the coming year!

And now, in no particular order, here are The Top Ten New Low-Carb Recipes of 2016 from Kalyn’s Kitchen (plus Honorable Mentions). I hope you might get a craving to try a few of these in the coming year if you missed them the first time!

Low-Carb Deconstructed Pizza Casserole was the very first recipe I posted in 2016, and it was hugely popular all through the year. If the craving for pizza is really getting you, this recipe might help with that!

Low-Carb Sausage and Roasted Peppers Mock Lasagna Casserole is another casserole with comfort food appeal. This casserole has the flavors that everyone loves in lasagna, with roasted red peppers filling in for the pasta.

Roasted Lemon Chicken and Green Beans Sheet Pan Meal is an easy dinner that’s also delicious. If you can marinate the chicken all day while you’re at work, that will only make this better!

Another meal with chicken thighs that was a wow for me was Grilled Chicken Thighs with Lemon and Za’atar. You could cook this in a stove-top grill when it’s not outdoor grilling season.

There were quite a few dishes this year that were served with cauliflower rice, and this recipe for The BEST Easy Cauliflower Rice with Garlic and Green Onions is the one I made over and over. You can also use this method to cook that frozen cauliflower rice that’s popping up in stores now!

Another great cauliflower option from 2016 was Slow Roasted Broccoli and Cauliflower with Curry; this was a unique way to cook roasted vegetables that produced wonderful flavor in the finished dish!

Easy Coconut Milk Shrimp over Cauliflower Rice is another fantastic combination of flavors, and once you get the veggies chopped, this is pretty quick to get on the table. You could definitely make this for company if you want an impressive dish that’s also low in carbs!

Roasted Cauliflower Rice with Red Pepper, Green Onion, Parmesan, and Pine Nuts was the very last new recipe of the year, and when I tested the recipe a few times I kept eating the leftovers of this for breakfast, that’s how good it was!

Cheesy Crustless Quiche Lorraine is a delicious breakfast idea to serve houseguests, or make it for yourself when you need a breakfast that’s a bit more special!

When you can get your hands on fresh tomatoes and fresh basil, Crustless Three Cheese Tomato-Basil Quiche is also absolutely a wow, and this is so colorful.

Pressure Cooker Recipes were huge in 2016, and I had a few favorites made with first the Cuisinart Electric Pressure Cooker and then the Instant Pot I got later in the year. This Instant Pot Low-Carb Soup with Ground Beef, Green Beans, and Tomatoes was pronounced a winner by several people in my extended family who tried the recipe.

Another amazing meal you can make in your Instant Pot, electric pressure cooker, or even in a stove-top pressure cook is Pressure Cooker Low-Carb Flank Steak Tacos with Spicy Mexican Slaw. Use low-carb tortillas to make this a low-carb meal.

I might have been a bit obsessed with Poblano Peppers in 2016, also called Pasilla Peppers in some grocery stores, and these Cheesy Stuffed Poblanos with Ground Turkey were an amazing dinner!

Low-Carb Ground Beef Cauliflower Rice Tacos Bowlsalso used Poblano Peppers, and thisis another of the new dishes served over cauliflower rice that I absolutely loved. Because taco flavors, olives, and avocado! Yum!

Low-Carb Grilled Bacon Cheeseburger Meatballs is another recipe quite a few of my family members loved; this could also be cooked in a grill pan or even in the oven when it’s not outdoor grilling time. (Sob!) These meatballs are indulgent but also not to be missed!

Another new recipe that’s a bit of a calorie splurge (but amazing!) is Low-Carb and Gluten-Free Cheddar Pecan Almond Crisps. These are wonderful as a nibble for guests and no one will think about the lack of carbs, I promise!

Roasted Asian Salmon and Green Beans Sheet Pan Meal is not only absolutely mouth-watering, but it might be the most colorful recipe of the year! This is another easy meal that would be impressive to make for guests.

Green Bean, Tomato, Onion, and Basil Summer Salad is another recipe that’s colorful, delicious, and quite possibly the perfect summer salad for a special meal. (PIN NOW for fresh tomato season!)

And finally, even cabbage avoiders will probably be won over by this amazing Low-Carb Twice Cooked Cabbage with Sour Cream and Bacon. The double cooking makes the cabbage sweet and delicious (less cabbagey) and the sour cream and bacon put this over the top!

And the last honorable mention is Low-Carb Ground Beef Zoodles with Peanut-Tahini Sauce; I loved the sauce used here so much that I can imagine eating it on so many other things!

So that’s a wrap for new low-carb recipes for 2016! There were a lot of other great recipes that got updated with new photos this year, so you might have thought they were new recipes if you missed them the first time around. If there was a certain new or new-to-you recipe that you enjoyed in 2016, I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
